“Today's performance (the final one) was wonderful and I'm very glad I was able to see it. The production as a whole was excellent. A bonus for me was the unexpected surprise of seeing my former 8th grade English student from BFA- Fairfax, Ben Wiggins, giving a strong performance as the Gentleman Caller. Bravo to the entire cast for a lovely performance, and congratulations to Ben!”

“I saw last Saturday's matinee and enjoyed the show very much. My reaction is not so much a review as a question: What is the ending all about? At the risk of appearing ignorant, I did not get a clear message of what Williams was trying to say. Why the wish for Laura to blow out the candle? Was that to break the connection or obligation between sister and roaming brother? Was it to let him roam in peace? I would love to hear a professional opinion. Thanks, Bob”

“This production was wonderful. I especially enjoyed Donna Wandrey and Craig Maravich's performances as Amanda and Tom Wingfield. The dynamics of a complicated relationship between mother and son are both present and powerful in this production. ”

“The Flynn Space was, once again, transformed into another world. This producition of The Glass Menagerie was right at home. The intimacy was palpable. The direction was intelligent and generous with the characters that Williams so clearly loved in all of their complexities. The actors were bold in their choices and convincing in their commitments. And,yes, the story of this family was made fresh. Like a loss and a regret that memory can sometimes heal, this production invited us to reconnect with the compassion of Williams and with the families that we may know so well as our own.”

“I saw The GM this past Saturday and was very moved. I finally felt that I had gotten to know the souls of the Wingfields. I've seen The GM on Broadway with Jessica Lange as Amanda, and Christian Slater as Tom, but in that instance, my experience was empty. That production seemed to be about those two performers one upping each other, whereas your production was about the hearts of the Wingfield family (and many families). Donna Wandrey’s Amanda was filled with so many intricate layers, and there were so many poignant moments in her portrayal, that for me to list them all would fill more than your program allows. Additionally, I don’t want to spoil the experience for those who have not seen the production (but still plan to attend) by listing these moments specifically - but watch closely when Amanda calls Ella about a magazine subscription. Most everyone that is familiar with this play knows the ending, and if you are fortunate enough to experience this beautiful production - you will never want to have its candles blown out.”

“I saw the play last night. It was beautiful and sad. Along with "Proof", one of the most moving theater experiences I've ever had.”

“At the curtain call of Sunday's matinee, I was struck by Molly Walsh's facial expression of despair which she could not erase so shortly after the emotional conclusion of the play. I leaned over to Lorna to point that out and was surprised to hear that my voice was cracking with emotion as well. The failure of the audience to grant a second call for applause was, in my view, not from a lack of appreciation, but that we were drained of energy from that fine performance by all four of your wonderful actors.”
