The Glass Menagerie Cast & Crew

Donna  Wandrey

Donna Wandrey (Amanda)

   

Although Ms. Wandrey spent years on the daytime serials: As the World Turns (Barbara Ryan); Another World (Angie); Edge of the Night (Allison Perry); and Ryan's Hope (Dr. Meyers), she is probably best known as the vampire Roxanne Drew on the gothic Soap Opera Dark Shadows.  Off-Broadway:  You Can't Take it With You and The Brownstone Urge.  Broadway, Los Angeles, on the road: Alan Ayckbourn's critically acclaimed trilogy, The Norman Conquests.  Toured with Eileen Heckart, Molly Picon, Kay Medford, Ann Sothern.  Regional:  The Lion in Winter; Mary, Mary; Barefoot in the Park; Come Blow Your Horn; A Thousand Clowns; A Majority of One; Arsenic and Old Lace.  Recently, she starred in Murderers (TheatreWorks Hartford; Outstanding Actress Award from the Connecticut Critics);  Moon Over Buffalo  (Arkansas Rep;  Lettice & Lovage (Clarence Brown).  The Eccentricities of a Nightingale (New Harmony); My Fair Lady (The North Carolina Theatre; Best Supporting Actress nominee from the Triangle Awards); Charley's Aunt (Indiana Rep); Move Over Mrs. Markham (Coconut Grove).  Ms. Wandrey portrayed the Mother in the Emmy-winning After School Special-Umbrella Jack.  She has appeared in over 300 TV and Radio commercials.

Craig  Maravich

Craig Maravich (Tom)

This marks Craig's 4th show with Vermont Stage Company and he would like to extend his thanks to Mark and the entire VSC community for the opportunity to create in such a fulfilling environment.

Recently, Craig completed working with The Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble where he played multiple roles in the play Mad Forest. He also served as a teaching artist at Bread Loaf alongside some of the nations leading literary scholars and professors of English and theatre.

Regionally, Craig has worked with theatres throughout the Northeast and Washington, DC including: The Kennedy Center, Long Wharf Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre (DC), Washington Shakespeare Co., Source Theatre, ACT Co., Elm Shakespeare, Yale University, St. Michael's Playhouse, and Middlebury Actor's Workshop. 

As an educator, Craig teaches acting and has taught theatre/acting in various capacities including work with Yale University, Middlebury College Bread Loaf School of English, St. Michael's College, The Flynn Center for Performing Arts and several guest lecturing assignments.

Molly  Walsh

Molly Walsh (Laura)

is very grateful to be returning to work with the Vermont Stage Company so soon after getting the opportunity to play Laura in this season's production of The Glass Menagerie. Molly has spent the last eight years as a company member with the Pendragon Theater in Saranac Lake, NY; some roles there included Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Viola in Twelfth Night, Harper in Angels in America (part I and II), Susie in Wait Until Dark, Antigone in Antigone, and Tracy in Philadelphia Story. New York credits include twelve years as a resident company member with the Jean Cocteau Repertory. Some roles there included Desdemona in Othello, Anya in The Cherry Orchard, Marianne in Tartuffe and Katrin in Mother Courage. Love to family, Keith, Briar and Marin.

Benjamin  Wiggins

Benjamin Wiggins (Jim)

Ben is a graduate of the William Esper Studio.  Previous stage credits include last year's VSC production of The Glass Menagerie; Maura Campbell's Ou Topos; and the world premiere of Ed Bullins' Janie's Song.  He is currently recording the follow-up to his band's debut album, Portraits of Sawyer: Superdestroyer.

Mark  Nash

Mark Nash (Director)

is proud to have served for 11 years as artistic director of Vermont Stage Company. He is currently catching up on his rest.

Jenny C. Fulton (Costume & Scenic Designer)

Jenny designs space, objects and clothes for stage and film.  She has designed regularly for Vermont Stage since 2001, most recently Oliver Twist and The Glass Menagerie.  In NYC she's designed for Salt Theatre, Anne Kaufman and Clubbed Thumb, The Women's Project, as well as the NY premier of Kathryn Blume's The Boycott.  Regionally, American Repertory Theatre, Yale Rep, Philadelphia Shakespeare, Virginia Shakespeare, North Shore Music Theatre, Northern Stage, Lost Nation, St. Mike's Playhouse, and others.  Film design credits include indie films and PBS Channel 13's The American Novel.   She is also an educator and has held guest artist appointments at Hunter College, Mt. Holyoke, Bates College and is presently adjunct faculty at Keene State.  She holds degrees from Brandeis and Yale Drama, is a member of USA Local 829, and divides her time between drafty Vermont farmhouse and small Brooklyn apartment.   Love and thanks to Prof. Henry Fulton for the ties. 

John B. Forbes (Lighting Designer)

has previously designed the lighting for Photograph 51, Oliver Twist, The Glass MenagerieOpus, My OhioKing LearInspecting Carol, Woody Guthrie's American Song, True WestCopenhagen, The Foreigner and The Drawer Boy at Vermont Stage Company.  In addition he has designed the lighting for productions at the Old Globe Theatre, the San Diego Repertory Theatre, the Center Repertory Company, and the Ensemble Theatre Company, all in California.  He has also designed lighting for Theatre Aspen in Colorado; the Riverside Shakespeare Company and Theatre Matrix in New York; the Arizona Theatre Company, and Saint Michael's Playhouse, the Big APE Dance Company and Lost Nation Theatre in Vermont.  He is the winner of three L. A. Dramalogue awards for his designs at the Old Globe Theatre and three Shelley Awards for his designs with the Center Repertory Company.  He is the faculty lighting designer at the University of Vermont in the Department of Theatre, and his lighting design for UVM's production of Metamorphoses was displayed in the Gallery Exhibit at the World Stage Design Exhibition in Toronto.  He has also taught at San Diego State University and the University of San Diego, and while at U.S.D., he also managed Shiley Theatre.  In that capacity he served as the technical liaison between the University and the Presidential Debate Commission for the final Presidential Debate of 1996 held there.

Joel Abbott (Sound Designer)

is happy to be making noise in FlynnSpace once again. Vermont credits include Underneath the Lintel, The Glass Menagerie, Cloud Nine, Shipwrecked, Souvenir, Opus, Prelude To A Kiss, Well, Always Patsy Cline, Blithe Spirit, Around the World in 80 Days, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Dames at Sea. He recently returned from a four month tour as musical director with The Second City, performing sketch and improv comedy shows. Prior to moving to Vermont, Joel was a member of the improv comedy ensemble with Dad's Garage Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. This is Joel's eleventh show with Vermont Stage Company. Special thanks to Mark Nash for everything.

John Paul Devlin (Technical Director)

is the Resident Designer and TD at Saint Michael's College and Resident Designer and Production Manager for the Saint Michael's Playhouse.  Favorite works with VSC include scenery for Shipwrecked, Three Days of Rain and True West.  Other recent works include lighting for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee for the Saint Michael's Playhouse and lighting From the New World, with the Champlain Quadrennial festival.   John is dedicating his 2010-2011 work to his son Patrick who died in September 2009 and to his daughter Kat who is currently recovering from a bone marrow transplant.  Thanks to Carol and Kat; without their support his work would not be possible.

Sue Wade (Properties Coordinator)

is, as always, delighted to be working with Vermont Stage once again.  Knowing that she has to find many bushels of apples and a full-sized yew tree gives her a reason to get up on a cold morning.
